Building insurance is the protection of the foundations of your home. Bricks and mortar of your home. This type of home insurance usually follows outdoor buildings such as garages, sheds and greenhouses that could be covered. Fences, walls and gates probably won’t be covered in this type of policy.
You can take it out alone or as part of a combined buildings and contents insurance policy. Suppose you’re going to get building insurance. In that case, you are usually required to take out building insurance before you move into your new home.
Now that you have the building covered, what about the items that live within your home? Items covered by contents insurance range from carpets and curtains to clothes and shoes. You should be protected against burglary and your stuff is damaged by fire or water.
Accidental damage cover can also be added to your policy. You can also add individual items to your policy, such as high-value items like jewellery, bikes, gadgets and so on.
If you’re a landlord, you are 100% responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the building you’re renting out. Usually, the standard building insurance policy won’t be efficient enough for landlords because someone else lives in the building.
You’ll need something specifically designed for landlords. Landlords insurance can also cover things like rent loss and public liability. We even offer income protection plans tailored to rent tenants.
Tenants insurance, also known as renters insurance, is a type of insurance policy designed for individuals who are renting a property. It provides coverage for the tenant’s personal belongings and offers liability protection, among other benefits.
Things we don’t think will happen but unfortunately do. Buildings insurance covers accidents in the home, such as banging a nail through a pipe, putting a foot through the ceiling, or accidental breakage of a window. For contents, insurance covers accidents such as spilling red wine on the carpet or accidental damage to TVs and laptops.
A whole of life insurance policy, also known as a permanent life insurance policy, covers the entire life of the insured person, provided that the premiums are paid. Unlike term life insurance, which expires after a specific period, whole life insurance never expires and guarantees beneficiaries a payout in case of the policyholder’s death. This kind of assurance combines a death benefit with a savings element called cash value, which accumulates over time on a tax-deferred basis. The cash value may be borrowed against or withdrawn by the policy owner, hence serving as a financial resource throughout their lifetime.
Premiums for whole-life policies tend to be higher than those for term ones because they provide lifelong coverage and have cash values built into them. However, these rates usually remain constant regardless of age or health changes. Whole-of-life cover can be particularly useful for estate planning since it helps to pay inheritance taxes and secures loved ones financially. It is also good for people who want lifetime security plus an opportunity to save more money over time.
This covers the client and their family for up to £50,000 to pursue or defend certain legal actions but does not include events such as breach of employment contracts within the first 90 days of the policy or divorce.

- Deductibles: Higher deductibles usually result in lower premiums.

- Home Renovations: Major upgrades or renovations to your home.
- Purchasing High-Value Items: Acquiring expensive items like jewellery or electronics.
- Lifestyle Changes: Marriage, divorce, or having children.
